Yosemite January 2012

After leaving Mono Lake, I headed to Yosemite. I was hoping it would snow while I was there but as fate would have it, it snowed the day after I left. 😦

I drove in through Tioga Pass and Tanaya Lake was frozen.

I wanted to get down to the valley while it was still morning to catch the contrast and shadows between the higher and lower elevations as the sun was coming up over the peaks.

I was interested in getting some shots from the banks of the Merced this time around. I wanted to try to get some cool reflections.

I’m pretty happy with the way these turned out.

Hope you enjoy!

  1. I miss The Yosemite! I lived in California for 20+ years and only made it to Yosemite Valley a couple of years ago. I fell in love. I never thought I’d fall in love with a place before, but Yosemite Valley did it for me. I cried the day we had to leave. LOVE your shots.
