About

What can I say? I love being outside!

My inspiration does not come from love of photography or a love of art. My inspiration comes from a love of being in these special places and wanting to be able to return to them at just a glance.

Over the years, I have come to discover that others also enjoy seeing these places, which makes these treks even more fulfilling.

Although I love going to these places, the real reward comes upon my return, in seeing the face of a person seeing something for the first time.

Now, if you don’t mind… the trail is calling…

Thanks for viewing!

  1. I will comment here as now that your are freshly pressed my comment will get buried. I see you are a fan of Ansel Adams and John Muir! I am very impressed with your statement that you don’t love photography or art…but you love being outside at these beautiful places. Even so, I saw some beautiful photographs.

    • Hi Tincup and thank you for the compliment!

I’m a big fan of John Muir and Ansel Adams…and Teddy Roosevelt for that matter.
The things they were able to accomplish that affected the preservation of these, almost, sacred places, was a job well done!

I find John Muir’s writing very interesting and entertaining. His story, The Earthquake, had me on the edge of my seat, laughing at the same time, while Yosemite was crashing down around him.

Being able to go to the same bends in the Merced, where they stood, in pictures, and seeing the same things they were seeing, really helps one to understand the expression on their faces in those pictures.

      Kudos to them!
